New Baby Smell

Olga had her little baby girl, Alina, yesterday. She's so cute and tiny and the baby fever is closing in. Katie and I went to visit Olga while she was in labor on Thursday. I didn't stay too long because she was in pain and needed to get some rest. I did get to hang out with Katie for a little while. We went to lunch at a cute Italian place, then went to her friend, Grand's, house and saw his turtle farm... which was basically a swampy swimming pool full of turtles. The bottoms of my jeans are disgusting from walking through the tall grass. It was a nice day. I liked hanging out with Katie. She's super sweet.

Water Fun

Marie brought over a big water ball so Jac and Francesca could play and cool down in all this heat. It's been so hot this week.

Florida Trip 2008

Zac and I are in Florida! We arrived Sunday around 5am and have been staying with Kaleena and Pedro. The drive was so long. Jac was an awesome little passenger, not even whiny. We stopped a few times to stretch our legs and get snacks. And we watched Bee Movie the WHOLE. WAY. HERE. Fourteen hours of Jerry Seinfeld's voice... Think about that. Let it sink in... You feel me?

On Monday, we went on a tour around Naples. It's so gorgeous... all the fancy houses. We went to the beach and played in the water... the green, clear water that I felt like a mermaid in. Also, Godiva cheesecake is SO amazing.

On Tuesday, everyone slept so late! We went to Walmart to get some snacks and went to the beach for a picnic. I helped Jac build a sandcastle and we found some beautiful shells, but we accidentally left them unattended and the ocean reclaimed them. I got the worst sunburn ever because I forgot to put sunblock on my legs. I kept getting painful chills while Kaleena sang karaoke... Haha.

Yesterday, we went bowling. I got two strikes! Jac pushed a ball half his size down the aisle and was so proud of himself. In the arcade, there was a giant claw machine and Zac spent maybe $10 trying to win a gigantic plush Gary from Spongebob. We got him, though! Everyone took turns!

Today, we went to the mall to visit the pet store. I held a tiny Dachshund puppy in a little cubby so Jac could pet it. I've got so many blisters on my feet from my flip flops. We drank coconut daiquiris at Kaleena's tonight, which numbed the sunburn pain, then played Harry Potter Scene It. So much laughing! It was a blast.

I'm sad that we're going home tomorrow...

Independence Day 2008

Zac and I met my parents at our halfway point in McComb to pick up Jac. He can say a whole sentence now! "I saw bubbles!" I'm so proud. He hasn't been giving me complete sentences, just simple words like, "Mama bye-bye". But He said a full sentence, finally. And he was able to play with Abbi and Payton yesterday.

Good things:

Mom and Dad treated Zac and me to lunch at Ruby Tuesdays, so I'm full of nachos.
I made $50 from Meredith for a picture I drew of Wes and Meredith's mother-in-law.
We met up with Jena and watched fireworks in the Albertson's parking lot. Jac kept saying "So loud!" and covering his ears, but he loved watching all the colors.

Jac, Museum, Park

We met my parents in McComb to drop our bud off. We had lunch at McDonald's and walked around the mall a bit before kissing him goodbye. He was excited to leave us, ha. My parents brought more of our things with them, so we unloaded more boxes this afternoon.

We killed some time at an old jail museum until we were able to meet up with Jena and Quinn at the park. We even played on the equipment. It was silly and fun. It's weird being a mom... Or at least it feels weird for me. Like, I feel I can't be silly anymore or not feel guilty for wanting to feel like I did before having a kid. I love Jac to pieces, but sometimes miss myself.
