Walk in the Park

We've been walking so much lately, even in the heat. Luckily it hasn't been that hot, even though we're almost in June. I'm not complaining! Once we get to June/July I'm going to hate being outside. There's a snoball stand that we recently found out about and they serve New Orleans-style shaved ice. Not too shabby. Black cherry with condensed milk is the best.

Bday Pt. 2

I ordered a cookie cake for Leah, since Mom was able to come by tonight to hang out. They spelled her name wrong, which was kinda funny... Leea. I mean, we're in Mississippi... I'm not surprised (lol). Anyhoo, I had them change it to L-E-A-H and brought it home. I think she had a fun birthday. She loves those roller blades.

Leah is 12!

My baby girl is TWELVE!
All she wanted for her birthday was a pair of roller blades. She's been asking for some about six months now, so we went for it. She's still wobbly, but doing great.

Eye Exams

I brought the big kids to their eye exam this afternoon. Jac's vision hasn't changed but they're going to get him a spare pair of glasses. Leah's vision improved to where she doesn't need glasses anymore, but her optic nerve is showing signs of early glaucoma. She goes back in August for a vision test to see if it's worsening or staying the same. Elias has an appointment closer to September.

Friends, Teeth

Elias lost his first tooth! He was so brave and just pulled it out.

Mike and Ashley brought their boys over so they could all have dinner with us and celebrate their first house purchase. Zac made enchiladas and we bought some Jarrito sodas. It was super fun.

Zoo 2021

We finally made a day trip to the Audubon zoo! Before covid hit, Jac wanted to spend his golden birthday in New Orleans, eating seafood and visiting the zoo or aquarium. We weren't able to do all that, so finally, we made it happen. Mom came with us and we met up with Krystal and two of her girls, Kayden and Piper, and spent the day looking at all the animals.

We ate some lunch, then headed to Krystal's to visit with her and Kevin and see her tiny farm. She just got some baby ducks, so the kids stayed outside cooing over them until it was time to leave. On our way out, we picked up Ruby's ashes. They gave us a sweet card, signed by everyone there, along with a clay imprint of her paw. Her ashes are in a nice little wooden box. I picked up a frame from Hobby Lobby earlier this week and have her a spot on our shelf next to Emily.
