Louisiana Trip

We planned a trip to see Mawmaw for Mother's Day this weekend. The plan was to stay with Sean like usual, so I actually got us out of the house on time. I texted Sean and let him know we were on our way. An hour into our trip, Sean texted back, "huh?" so Zac called him and it turns out, Sean's got a sinus infection. We jumped back and forth a few times trying to decide if we should turn around and leave Saturday or see if there were any pet-friendly hotels (since we had the dogs) available, or check with Marie or Jessie. Jessie doesn't have her place ready yet since she works so much so we didn't want to inconvenience her, but Marie had the space and said to come on. We picked up an air mattress from Walmart and got to Marie's new house. It was a little chaotic, but ended up being a nice visit. The kids went right to bed, thankfully. Since it was Jac's birthday weekend, we decided to pick up some snowballs instead of a cake. He'd wanted an ice cream cake, but Marie said she was getting a cookie cake. So this way, best of both. Oh, and Marie has a family of nutria living in her back yard. We were able to see the parents and two babies. Pretty cool.

We had planned to come back home Sunday, but after hanging out with Jessie, we decided to just stay one more night. Grahamm had some fireworks, Jessie had alcohol, and we had a tough decision to make regarding Ruby. I'll post about her in tomorrow's entry. I'm glad we stayed another night. We needed the company and it was so late already. Grahamm made some burgers and we met a few of their friends, then ended up staying up late playing Cards Against Humanity. Zac was super hung over this morning. He threw up a few times, as did Jessie, but by the time we headed home, he was fine. Or as fine as he could be.
