Leah is EIGHT!

My baby girl has turned EIGHT years old! These babies of mine are just getting bigger and bigger. I baked her a rainbow cookie cake, per her request, and she was overjoyed. She, too, got some new socks in Pokemon and Tsum Tsum (such simple requests, I love it).

Mom offered to treat the kids to dinner of their choice, so they picked Ichiban, a Chinese buffet with a huge sushi selection. I got my sushi fix and the kids ate their fill of basically one-of-everything. Much better than China Buffet.

After dinner, we headed to PetsMart. Leah has been asking for a fish for a while, so as her birthday drew nearer, it was all she could talk about. Zac bought the tank and supplies, Leah picked the fish, which she named Albus, and we brought him home. He's got his own Hogwarts castle and Forbidden Forest.

Work

I started working at Bath & Body Works again, my favorite job ever. Right now, I'm helping with floor sets and getting a few shifts here and there. Our current location is being remodeled to host Victoria's Secret's PINK store, so we're in a temporary (small) space until our new location is finished. I think we're moving to it in August or July. I'm just so happy to be back. It feels like I never left, except for a few new faces.

Jac is Eleven!

My sweet baby boy, but not so much a baby anymore, is eleven years old today. We celebrated Mother's Day yesterday so he could have the day to himself. It's crazy that a little more than a decade ago, he was a swaddled little bud, peeping at the world for the first time. I baked him a pizza cookie cake, per his request, and he happily accepted his much-needed Pokemon and Mario socks (haha).

Zac made breakfast, then we headed to the Jackson Zoo. Elias was less than thrilled most of the time, probably from being hot or from zebras having stripes and not spots, or (the actual reason) being unable to push his own stroller around. So. Many. Meltdowns. Jesus. The terrible twos are approaching super early with this one.

We had lunch at Mellow Mushroom and Leah made sure to tell the waitress that it was Jac's birthday. He was given a huge brownie on the house, which he insisted on sharing with "the whole family", like a sweetie. He told us it was his best birthday ever.

Nature

There's a park behind our house. It's got a lake with a fountain in the middle and people were fishing. Tall trees surrounded the whole area like a semi-forest. We even saw a few owls!
