New Orleans

The Riverwalk is closed right now. It's being remodeled, so Zac and I brought the kids to the mall instead. Leah wanted everything in the Disney Store. I think Santa might get her a Flounder. She's very into Ariel (like her mama). There was a princess castle set up with assorted costume dresses and Jac was just too embarrassed to go in the castle. I'm guessing this is the "girls are gross" phase because even joking that he should dress like Leah for Halloween makes him go, "No, Mom! Ehhhhhhgghhhh!" and make a face. Oh, well.

As far as pregnancy goes, I don't really have many symptoms. I'm tired all the time and can't get enough orange juice and smoothies. I'm really into citrus. Other than that, I feel pretty good.

Guess what makes me feel sick to smell it? Of all the things that could make me nauseated, it's pumpkin spice. My favorite thing.

Good News!

Looks like Baby #3 is heading our way in June 2014!

I've been having a few symptoms this week, but the other tests were negative. This is unexpected, but exciting. I called Zac with the news. He's a little surprised, but we've got this. I haven't told the kids yet. I hope to make an announcement a little later on, maybe after I see the ultrasound. Halloween or Christmas might be ideal.

Weather

Just saying, the weather in Louisiana is ridiculously bipolar. A look at yesterday, then today.

Random Update

Zac and I decided to spend all day doing fun things with the kiddos. We stopped at Cafe Du Monde to have a breakfast of beignets and coffee before heading to PetsMart and the thrift store. I really want a cotton candy-colored betta fish next time we get one. And I found my first Christmas village for only $10! The light bulbs work and everything. Fan-say.

Cast Off, New Books

Jac got his cast removed last week. He's so happy to have it off, being able to stretch his arm out and take regular baths again.

The school books came today! I've been going through them and configuring joint lesson plans. It's a little overwhelming, but I'm sure I can do it. We're going to start in October, so I've got time to get everything organized.

Shopping

I don't want to go home tomorrow. It's been so relaxing here, just listening to waves crashing and being outside in the sun.

We found a mall and went shopping. Mom bought the kids new pajamas from Gymboree and I picked up a free mini candle from B&BW. The B&BW in Pensacola is gigantic. The kids picked out some candy, Zac and I indulged in pumpkin spice frappuccinos, and we saw the prettiest sunset from our balcony.

Florida Trip 2013

We're in Florida! As we were arriving yesterday, it didn't feel like a year had passed. Everything was just as hot and just as gorgeous. The ocean is magical. I overdosed on pumpkin spice treats on the way. I can't get enough! The scone from Starbucks is amazing.

Our room was cozy and we had a great view of the lagoon. Fish would occasionally jump from the water and it was nice sitting on the balcony, watching the waves.

We found Jac a cast-cover so he was able to sit near the ocean without getting his cast wet. He didn't want to get in the water, but he walked along the beach collecting shells with his Granddaddy. Leah built sand castles with me.

Today, we went to a few gift shops to look around and bought some ice cream treats. Finding Baskin Robins was an adventure in itself. We kept getting turned around, but finally found it. We spent the rest of the day at the beach. Zac and I even attempted some beach art.

Cindy told me about some pumpkin spice M&Ms she spotted at the grocery, but I couldn't find any, so I bought some Hershey's kisses instead. I've eaten too many, but I can't help it. They are so good.
