A Little Vent

I'm not superstitious, but if I was, I would think today was the 13th as I've had the worst luck since I woke up.

First of all, I had to go to Covington to get Zac's check and bring him lunch (happy to do it, by the way). Jac kept saying "Daddy get in, go bye bye" which made us both sad for him. I drove back to Slidell to deposit a check and get gasoline, but after about a dollar's worth of pumping the gas, the flow just stopped. I went to another pump to try again, but was told to see the attendant. I got Jac out of the car and talked to the attendant, finished pumping gas, and went to get back in the car to buckle Jac in, but the doors were locked. I had a minor freak-out, positive I locked the keys in the car. I checked my pockets and my purse, but I couldn't find them. I called Jena to see if she would stop by Mawmaw's to get the spare key and then I found my keys... in my purse... where I checked....

Jena met us at Walmart anyway, just to say hey while I shopped for some groceries. She was going to meet me back at the house, but ended up going to see her mom.

I packed up our bags for my parents' house, picked up Zac, and headed to Mississippi. The most frustrating thing that happens every time we take this trip is Mom texts and calls multiple times along the way to see where we are, if we left yet, how close, etc. It drives me crazy and I'm positive she knows this, which is why she does it anyway.

We arrived at Mom's and it was just a horrible visit. She nagged me to eat, then got mad when I wouldn't eat the instant potatoes or the frozen pizza. Payton kept bullying Jac. I was having false contractions most of the night and then Mom invited Carlton and Rachel and their kids to spend the night when there is no room in that house! They live 30 minutes away... And she kept complaining that there are too many people in her house. I get aggravated because I don't know why she invites us, then invites a sibling. She always says "I can't wait to see you and spend some quality time" and then she invites others to come over and gets too stressed out and irritable to enjoy the visit. I don't get it. Is she secretly psychotic? Lucky for me, she doesn't read my blog.

Vent Over.

Glucose Vomit

This morning, I went to my appointment and waited a bit until I was brought the glucose drink. I picked the orange one this time as the clear was just gross. I learned they're both equally gross... After a few minutes of finishing it off, I felt super nauseated and barely made it to the toilet to throw it all back up. The nurse took about six vials of blood while I was laying down so as not to faint. I had to wait an extra 20 minutes to go home so the nausea would subside. I feel so gross. My head is spinning, nothing tastes right, and I'm incredibly emotional. It's probably the worst day ever to my pregnant brain.

25.5 weeks

I brought Jac with me to my doctor's appointment. He was so well-behaved. We heard Bean's heartbeat and he kept whispering "I hear it!" Everything is great with Baby Girl. She's growing right on schedule, her heart sounds great and she's very active. I can't wait to see her again. I have to take the glucose test sometime next week.

Pregnancy Highlights:
How far along: 25 weeks, 4 days.
Size of baby: Between a squash and a zucchini.
Total weight loss/gain About 10 pounds, still.
Maternity clothes: Stretchy jeans.
Gender: Girl!
Movement: All the time.
Sleep: Sleeping great.
What I miss: Nothing, really.
Cravings: Cheesecake.
Symptoms: Hungry, pee a lot.
Best moment this week: Napping with Jac.

Amanda Palmer is coming to New Orleans next month! I can't believe it. I'm going to try to get some tickets because I have been wanting to see her in concert forever.

Parade & Fish

Zac brought us to PetsMart yesterday and we bought a few goldfish. They're adorable, but don't have names right now. Jac thinks they are the coolest and loves watching them. He's been very careful with feeding them, too.

Jac took a really good nap and we decided to go to the local parade. We caught a bunch of beads and stuffed animals for the kiddo. I'm hoping we can go again next year and make this an annual thing. Jac has never been to a parade before, but it's a Louisiana staple.

Haircut & Park

I cut Jac's hair and we hung out at the park today. He loves swinging so much. If we were able to stay at Mawmaw's house, I think getting him a swing set would be a good idea. Zac's hoping we can move to our own place before Bean gets here, so it'll have to wait.

Dental Work

I've got my mouth fixed for now. My left two wisdom teeth have been pulled and the cavities have been replaced with metal. My mouth is throbbing, but I'm okay. I've been eating mashed potatoes and yogurt and trying to sleep as much as I can. Mom and Dad have Jac so I can rest and recover, but I miss his sweet little face and his hugs. He's so affectionate these days, it just melts me.

Bean's been feisty today. She's been kicking me like crazy. I put my phone on my belly and it's like a boat in a hurricane.

For your entertainment, I wrote you a poem.

How lovely it is to grow old,
to be told you resemble a toad.
Your hips have gone creaky,
your bladder is leaky,
and your privates begin to grow mold.

You're welcome.

Super Bowl

Marie invited us over for a Super Bowl party. I'm not into football, or any sports for that matter, but I'm pregnant and there was food. Heck yes.
