It's Alina's first birthday! It was nice to see everyone and pass Leah around. Jac was well-behaved and I was able to eat without being asked "Ca'v some, Mama?"

Visits with Family
Zac and I met up with Christina and Danielle at Chuck E. Cheese. Jac won a ton of tickets, so he brought home a ton of plastic snakes.
Danielle had to leave after dinner, so Christina, Steve, and their kiddos came to hang out and play with the Wii.

The Strangest of the Strange
I had a flier on my door about an apartment "get-together" so neighbors could meet-and-greet, being a new apartment and all. I fed the kids, got them dressed and went to the lobby.
It was awkward. I felt like a minority and the subject matter of racism didn't help. I won't be going to any more of these "meetings."

Playground
I finally took the kids to the park. I've been postponing it due to the heat. It was too hot to stay long, according to Leah. She was basically pissed the whole time and will probably forever despise playgrounds now. Jac was supposed to take a nap when we got home, but he wouldn't sleep. Jena called so we went to Pearl River to pick her and drive by the house I grew up in. We made it back to the apartment not long before Zac got home and Quinn brought pizza. After the kids were in bed and a few games of Clue, the friends left and our apartment is quiet.

73
My parents came to visit and brought me some furniture from Meredith. We also celebrated an early birthday for Dad since we won't be seeing him on the actual day. We ate at China Buffet and I made strawberry shortcake (his favorite). Jac said, "Happy bertday, Gan-gaddy" and drew a card with swirls, a tree, himself with Granddaddy, and a balloon tied to the tree so it "won't fly away". I hope Leah can get to know Dad like Jac has.

Independence Day 2009
Quinn's parents invited us over for fireworks and burgers. Jena and I drank most of the Sheridan's (no regrets!). Leah slept most of the time and Jac probably sneaked ate about five cupcakes. He had a blast, though. He ran through the sprinkler and chased Jena around. Quinn and Zac lit a bunch of fireworks while Jena and I watched and kept Jac out of danger. It was so much fun.
