Trick Or Treat

We're at my parents' this weekend because Emily and Alex are getting married tomorrow. Since Halloween falls on a Sunday this year, we went trick-or-treating tonight. Apparently in Mississippi, they don't like when "Devil's Night" falls on the Sabbath. Good news: tons of candy anyway. My little Jac Jac dressed like his favorite space ranger and really loved running door to door for candies. There was one asshole kid who kept scaring my baby by sneaking up on him while wearing a skeleton mask. I finally had to tell him to fuck right off. Don't scare small children.

Potty Training

We bought a small potty chair and have started the potty training process. Eep! Wish that luck. He seems to be slightly interested and mostly opposed.

Pumpkin Patch

I'm in LOVE with October weather! I've been feeling good today, no nausea so far, which is bizarre because of how random it is. We brought Jac to his first pumpkin patch so he could pick out a pumpkin to carve. He chose a little one so he could carry it "by myseff". My only complaint about this pregnancy is how tired I am. I'm just exhausted all the time. But, I'm looking forward to growing a belly again and snuggling a newborn.

Trip to Mississippi

I'm visiting my parents, just Jac and me. It's been a while and Dad was missing Jac, so we made a trip. Last night, Dad made quesadillas for dinner. I don't think Bean approved because they came right back up. My morning sickness is off and on, but when it's on, it's really fucking on. I was going to go hang out with Emily and Alex at the mall for a bit, but being in the car made me feel so queasy, I had to cancel. Tomorrow, I'm heading back home, so I'm going to go get snuggled up to my little man and get some sleep.

Jac & Me

It's October. Or, it has been for a few days. Zac and I were talking that we haven't taken Jac to a pumpkin patch yet. I never went as a kid, but I always wanted to go. We're gonna see about taking him. Pregnancy is going good. It's weird... I don't really have symptoms yet aside from feeling a presence... if that makes sense? I'm glad I bought some stretchy clothes when we were planning to go to Disney. Not much going on, really. Feeling tired and trying to entertain the J-bird.

Baby stuff

I went to the pregnancy crisis center in Slidell and my pregnancy was verified. I filled out paperwork and peed in the cup. According to their calculations, I'm five weeks and three days, making the due date May 29.

On Friday I called my parents to tell them the news. I talked about babies with Jac a little bit. He pointed at my tummy and said, "Baby in dere?" I know he doesn't understand completely, but I'm going to see what the Internet says about introducing another baby. I don't want to create sibling rivalry or jealousy, so hopefully I can get him excited about being a big brother.

Babysitting

Olga asked if I could keep Alina for a little while today, so I was happy to help. She's such a good baby, barely a peep. Jac was absolutely smitten. He's going to be such a great big brother.

Some News

Welp, Zac and I are expecting a baby!

I had a feeling I might be as I'm "late" and I've been on time for the past two years. I took a test yesterday and saw a super faint positive, so I took another this morning and it was a little darker. I'm just now at four weeks, but I'm going to make an appointment with the clinic today and get some prenatal vitamins. How exciting!

Park Day

Today we brought Jac to the park to play. We ended up walking the trail behind the park. I've been super tired lately and hope I'm not getting sick. Maybe it's the seasons changing. Today's weather was so nice, though. It's been hot for a while, I'm glad it's cooling down.

Girl's Night Out

Disney World didn't work out. I had a feeling, but I pushed it aside. It just isn't the right time. I'm disappointed, but I don't mind. I just need to get our money back from Steffane.

Steffane and Katei wanted me to go with them to New Orleans for a "Girls Night Out" thing Friday night. I went, and at first it was kinda fun, but I'm married. I didn't like getting hit on by strange guys or being in a strip club with boobs in my face (yeah, Steffane picked it...). Zac called and I told him to come meet me. Steffane was bothered that I wanted him there, but she brought one of her friends and Katei invited a guy, so I wasn't about to be a fifth wheel. I was so glad to see Zac. We danced together and I got just a little drunk (I don't drink often, but I'm responsible). We headed back to the hotel room to sleep off the alcohol sometime around 3am. Steffane ordered room service for breakfast, so we ate before heading to back Covington to meet my parents and pick up Jac. I was so happy to see him.

Aquarium 2008

We took Jac to the Aquarium of the Americas in New Orleans. Finally! He LOVED it. We had a lot of fun. He really liked the jellyfish and kept saying, "Dori got hurt with jellyfish," in reference to Finding Nemo. I'm loving his expressions so much. I'd love to get a tropical fish tank and see these types of fish regularly.

Hurricane

Zac and I have evacuated to Mississippi because of Hurricane Gustav. We'd rather be somewhere else, but Jac is having fun running around. Sorry for the short entry. I'm a little stressed.

Talks of Disney

Katei invited us to go to her house to play Mad Gab with Steffane and Nick. It was a lot of fun. We laughed so, so much. It was a fun night. Katei's mom made chocolate chip cookies and Jac played with toys. He was so spoiled.

Steffane wants us to go with her to Disney World in a few months. I'd like to, but we just can't afford it right now. I'd rather go when Jac is a little older so he can enjoy it. If we were to go now, he'd have to stay with my parents and it would be a friends-only type of trip. Though, if we brought him, I know he'd have fun, but Steffane wants it to be adults-only. I don't know. It feels weird leaving him out of something so kid-friendly. However, we're thinking about it. We've still got a few months to decide.

Family Visits

I went with my parents to visit Karen and Krystal and meet baby Kayden. She's so tiny and sweet. Jac played with Kylie and kept wanting to give Kayden kisses and toys. Holding the baby makes me want more babies.

Dental things, swimming

I haven't been to the dentist in a very long time. I finally made an appointment and found out I've got the early stages of periodontitis. I also need to have my wisdom teeth extracted and possibly get a root canal, PLUS get two separate 90-minute cleanings. It's my own fault. I should've taken better care of my teeth. But part of me blames Dad and his genes.

Jac is staying with my parents for a few days so Zac and I can go apartment-hunting. I put him in the kiddie pool on the deck and spent some quality time with him before we left. He broke my heart when we were getting in the car, though... He kept pointing to his car seat saying "I sit there! I sit there!" and crying for me. I told him he could have ten popsicles and watch all the cartoons while he's at Mom's, so he agreed. I'm missing him, but I know he'll have more fun with them than us for now.
