Nerdiness

Midnight Madness was awesome! Zac doesn't like to get dizzy, but we had a blast.

Emily and Alex went with us to Fernando's today, then we went shopping at the mall. I found some pretty rad Bride of Frankenstein earrings.

Mississippi State Fair 2009

We went to the Mississippi State Fair this morning!

It started to rain, so we called it a day. Zac and I are going to Midnight Madness tonight to ride everything for one price. So excited! I even got a new hair cut.

Purple Milk

I found something called gentian violet and it has improved my nipple's condition. Not only is my nipple purple, but so is my milk.

I packed for my parents' today and even pumped since the pain is gone and I'm not swollen anymore! My deflated chest will also come in handy tomorrow at the fair.

Solid Foods

I started Leah on cereal yesterday. She hates it.

Today I went to the doctor because my boob feels like it has shards of glass scattered under my skin. As it turns out, I have a yeast infection in my left nipple. Awesome! The slightest gravitational pull is agony... I can't bend over, I can't pick anything up, I can't do ANYTHING.

Luckily I got a few formula packets from the pediatrician earlier this week, so I can supplement for Leah. I'm just not ready to give up breastfeeding yet.

Baton Rouge Training

Zac is being trained as a courier in Baton Rouge and the kids and I were able to come with him and stay in a hotel. It's been a lot of fun! I wouldn't mind if he had a job that encouraged traveling one day.

We found a Fernando's last night but it was nothing like the one in Mississippi. We had to buy a bottle of Mylanta in order to sleep.

I gave the kids a shower with the shower massage. It was fun for all of us, I think. Jac just stood there while I bathed him and I had to lay Leah on a towel to rinse her off. No tears, just smiles and squeals.

We met up with Zac down the street for lunch at China One then went to the Mall of Louisiana. I really like Baton Rouge.

I don't want to go back home tomorrow.

Evelyn

Cindy welcomed baby Evelyn to the world today! I went to visit her and keep her company until Tony and Miles arrived. We can have the best playdates now!

Ms Trip

I've been at Mom's since yesterday. It's just me and the kiddos this time since Zac had to work. We surprised Dad, though. I told Mom not to tell him, so when we arrived, Jac brought the mail in to him.

My parents got a dog last week. I think she's some sort of terrier. Her name is Daisy.

We went to Outback for dinner last night and I had an Aussie Skyy. I decided since today is Emily's birthday, I'd try to make one homemade. Not too shabby. I couldn't find a melon-flavored vodka, so we had to juice actual melons. Sounds dirty! Recipe posted HERE.

I need to pack since I'm going back home tomorrow. I miss Zac a bunch, but Jac has been sleeping in my bed with me for snuggle substitution.

Dress Up

Jena picked me up and we went to David's Bridal so I could try on bridesmaid dresses. I found out I'm a size four when I've been thinking I'm a size ten. Talk about a self-esteem rocket blast to the moon!

I decided to get Leah's ears pierced while we were near the mall. The whole process took forever. Leah screamed when the piercer marked her ears, but barely peeped when she got the actual piercing. I ended up nursing her to keep her quiet, which worked out for both of us.

A Good Day

We went to hang out with Mawmaw this afternoon after stuffing our faces with sushi at China Buffet. It's been such an awesome day! The kids slept late, Jac ate all of his food without making a mess, Leah slept the whole time we were at the restaurant, and neither have been fussy. I like days like this.

Jena's Bridal Shower

I got my new work shirt. I also attempted to memorize the detox info and "what not to say" ballyhoo. Fun stuff.

After work, I picked up Leah and went to Jena's surprise bridal shower at Quinn's parents' house, just us girls.

After a lot of the guests left, Zac brought Jac to hang out for a little while. We mainly watched home movies of Quinn as a little kid in Disney World.

Ra Shop

I got a job after maybe two years of being a stay-at-home-mom. It's not terrible, I'm just Awkward Amy. I need to get familiar with tobacco products and get a license to sell them. I also need to get used to being away from my baby because my milkshake is bringin' all the boys to the yard.

Mom's Night Out

Zac's friend, Kacy, invited me to a mommy's-night-out down the street from Marie's house. I gave Big Bro a haircut and headed out. Zac kept Leah and I walked down the street to Kacy's with Jac so he could play with Alyssa's son, Logan, and Kacy's son, Zachary. Kacy cooked lasagna and we drank wine while the boys played and got so, so dirty.

brownies and snuggles

Zac and I have been a couple for five years today! It's insane... How has it been that long already? We celebrated with a batch of minty brownies and snuggle time with a pair of miniature weirdos.

Ms Trip

Zac and I are at my parents'. We arrived yesterday after a rough afternoon. So much baby drama from such a tiny lady.

Emily and Alex came to hang out with us Saturday. We went to eat at Fernando's while Mom watched the kids. I think Fernando's is the only thing I miss about living in Mississippi...

Zac and I went to the mall for some shopping since there's a tax-free sale this weekend. I finally found an Edward Scissorhands shirt. We're going home tomorrow. These trips always feel too short.
