***I meant to post earlier, but many things have kept me from blogging. We're trying to get our school routine back together, there's work, a visit from my parents, dental appointments, etc.
My parents and our family have finally conquered the Disney Vacation. I haven't been to Disney World in almost 15 years, so as stressful as the trip was, it was also exciting. We planned a 10-day trip, so the first day was spent driving half-way and staying overnight in a hotel in Florida.
Sleeping Beauty, Coraline, How to Train Your Dragon, and The Nightmare Before Christmas on repeat.
Day One: Check in to Pop Century resort and catch bus to Downtown Disney. Eat at Rainforest Cafe. Get overwhelmed by all the things! Let kids ride carousel.
Day Two: Magic Kingdom and dinner at T-Rex. Leah was shaky-terrified of the Haunted Mansion. She no longer trusted any dark rides. We went back to Downtown Disney in search of souvenirs, ear hats, and anything Loki (no luck there). Zac and I left the kids with my parents so they could swim and we could walk around Epcot together. I developed a few blisters and a back ache, but it was amazing.
Day Three: Animal Kingdom and breakfast at Chef Mickey's. The kiddos loved the monorail. Zac and I really enjoyed Expedition Everest... the first roller coaster ride in years. Very cool.
Day Four: Breakfast at the Polynesian Resort with Lilo and Stitch. Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom. Lots of shopping, coffee, autographs, and candy... and walking. Halloween parade, fireworks, and Disney villain show. Conquor Space Mountain.
Day Five: Hollywood Studios. Pizza Planet, Tower of Terror, Rock n' Rollercoaster. Frozen things galore! We played in the snow and went on an adventure with C3P0 - by far, Dad's favorite thing ever. We rode a ferry and ate at Trails End Restaraunt where Zac and I (along with two other anniversary-buttoned couples) kissed for 30 seconds in the middle of the room, with everyone watching, just so we could get a free dessert.
Day Six: Magic Kingdom. Meet Elsa and Anna and watch how speechless the kids become. Watch Leah beam with excitement that Elsa loved her matching costume dress. Resist urge to squeeze Ariel. Convince James that he doesn't really have to marry Anastasia unless he wants to, regardless of what Lady Tremaine says, and not to be sad that Drizella was disappointed in his lack of castles. Fill up on all the fruit tarts, get nauseated, worth it. Leah becomes obsessed with Tinkerbell.
Day Seven: Last day. Much sadness. Rent wheelchair for yours truly because back is kaput and walking is impossible. EPCOT. Lunch at Norway Pavillion. Turtle Talk with Crush was very cool. As was Soarin'. And France. James and I solved one of the Agent P's World Showcase Adventure. We ended the night with fireworks and mixed drinks.
On our way home, we stopped by the beach to eat at the kids' favorite place, Peg Leg Pete's.
