Ashley's golden birthday was yesterday. She and Mike were in town today so we met up with them for a double date. Our lovely first born offered to babysit, with the help of Leah, and he did a great job! We were out for about an hour, but he kept in touch with his phone, put on Adventure Time, and gained a new level of trust. Lunch was fun! And so much cheaper without the kids. We were able to talk about adult things without kid-interruptions. Ah, bliss. After lunch, Mike and Ashley met us at our house to exchange gifts and have coffee. We hung out for a few hours and talked about homesteading and candle-making, etc. She's getting into painting again, so we're going to try to inspire each other with art.
