New Year's Eve

We came to my parents' house yesterday. Mom wanted us to visit Granny so she could see Jac and Leah. The kids played with their cousins and opened gifts. I've got silly string in my hair.

I smoked my last cigarette tonight. I know it's going to be hard to avoid temptation, especially since I work around cigarettes... It's better for me. I don't want my kids to smoke. That's the only resolution I'm making.

Christmas Continued

Zac's Aunt Janie wanted to get some pictures of all the kiddos, so Zac and I drove to Mawmaw's. She gave the kids a few gifts and we visited.

Christmas 2009

Happy Holidays!

Last night, Zac took a few pictures of the kiddos. We stayed up late so everyone slept in this morning.

It's been a relaxing day. The kids opened their gifts and have been so good and content.

Christina invited us to go to her house to hang out, so we got dressed and drove to the city. We played Mario Kart on the Wii and ate dinner with them. Jac chased their little dogs around and Leah was laughing at them.

Pre-Christmas

My parents have been here since yesterday. They brought some early Christmas gifts for the kids.

Today, I must've gone to Walmart about a thousand times. Mom helped cook with me and Dad helped me make fudge. My pralines are not so good. It's been nice, though. I love these holidays.

Kiddos

These babies have been so sweet today. Nobody whining or fussing, just smiles all day. This is the best part of being Mama. I love these critters so much.

Double Date

Marie offered to babysit the kids, so Zac and I went on a double date with Sean and Genevieve. We went to Casa De Garcias and met Sean and Zac's friend, Robbie. Sean convinced us to see A Christmas Carol. I really liked the animation.

Zac's Birthday

I baked Zac a birthday cake yesterday. Jac picked out the frosting. I was going to use my Betty Crocker decorating kit (finally), but the cake broke as I was trying to layer it. Last minute, I decided to use Jac's toy dinosaurs and create an earthquake cake. I think it turned out pretty rad.

Tonight we went to the movies to see Couple's Retreat. It was so funny! I haven't really seen any movies lately that I thought were genuinely funny. Most have just been cheesy.

Friend Visits

Katie and Olga came to visit. It was so nice hanging out. I haven't seen them in such a long time. Jac is just smitten with Alina. And Leah didn't poop on anybody this time!

J&Q Wedding

Yesterday, I picked Jena up and met her mom and Amanda at the nail salon. It was my first experience in the popular land of Strange and Unusual...

To sum it up: No, salon lady, I would not like a pedicure. Your blank stare is unacceptable. Please stop showing me where the ladies' room is. That is not what I asked.

While my nails were being painted:
Asian lady says: "Your baby, she look Asian. She Asian baby?"
Me: "No ma'am, she's Mexican, actually."
Asian lady: "Noooo I see her before. She Asian! She has Asian eyes."
Me: "No ma'am. This is the first time I've been in here."
Asian lady: "She your baby? I see her before. She Asian."
Me (politely, but through gritted teeth): "No, she's actually MY baby. She's Mexican, not Asian. and no, you haven't seen her before."
Asian lady: Yes I see her before. She come in all the time."

I put the conversation on Facebook and Patty said, "I dunno, she sounds pretty certain that she's seen your Asian baby before. Are you sure you're not the one mistaken?" Ha!

The highlight of the day: I met Jenny in person! I've been DYING to meet her in person since we started talking so long ago. She's so amazing and witty. We both said it felt like we were meeting a celebrity for the first time!

Best Friends.

Today I met up with Jena at her condo and we rode with Amanda, Brenda and Dana to the hair/makeup salon. I got my hair drowned in hairspray and hair gel styled, and got my makeup plastered layer after layer on my face applied. I don't know how women do this on a daily basis.

Once all of us ladies were purtied up real nice, we went to Patton's. TMI moment just for you: all of us but Dana are bleeding at the same time. Tampon party! Okay, enough of that mess (ha, get it?)

We did the wedding thing, which was nice. Jena was a lovely bride. She and I danced together to Justin Timberlake's Sexy Back.

I'm missing Jenny something awful. I even cried in the car on the way home. I wish we lived closer together. She took this pic of our family for me.
