Elias' teefs

I brought the kids to the dentist back in December and they referred Elias to another dentist to see about a cavity between baby molars. They advised against fillings since they are baby teeth and recommended crowns. So, I got him an appointment for dental surgery today and it's been a day. He slept on the sofa last night so I could get him up and in the car for 5:30 this morning. They gave him some pre-op meds that made him a little loopy before bringing him to the back. He had four teeth pulled and two crowned. It took maybe 5 hours total and the room was freezing. The TV was also haunted because it kept randomly turning on. I ended up unplugging it and fell asleep in my chair, ha. When they brought Elias back, he was just starting to wake up and was so confused with the blood on his pillow. So far, he's feeling good, just tired and sore, but he hasn't complained very much. Brave kiddo. He's enjoying the endless supply of popsicles and we had a beautiful nap together.

Dentist

Happy to announce I no longer have gum disease! Finally. Only took a year to clear it up after switching toothpastes, mouthwashes, and flossing more frequently. Less anxiety for sure. Having a cozy blanket also helped.

Boosted

Zac and I got our covid boosters because we're responsible adults. I'm looking forward to when we can all be vaccinated, but until then, I'm just making sure to keep us from catching it as best I can. Too many fuckers out here thinking it's gone when it's not.

20/20

So I went BACK to the eye doctor because I've been getting headaches and my lenses still don't feel right. My vision feels off and it's been more annoying to wear them than not. Guess what? I have basically 20/20 vision. I'm super confused because I'm certain I need glasses, but either their machines are messed up or my eyes are just fucking with me. Who knows? So the glasses... my favorite, cutest glasses, are going in a drawer for now.

Revamps

First of all, Jessie sent me a care package of delicious macarons and I love her so much for it.

Second: we're making progress on the floors. I say "we" loosely because I don't help very much aside from handing Zac tools and junk. But they're coming along.

Not much more to go. I'll be excited when it's all finished, then I can order the quarter-rounds and repaint the walls. It feels like it will take forever, but we're almost done.

School Year

School is in session! Starting 10th, 7th, and 1st. I took a different route this year and am trying out DiscoveryK12. So far, it's super convenient. All the lessons are right there, YouTube resources, dictionary, reading, etc. Everything is RIGHT THERE and the best part: it's FREEEEEEEEE. All I had to do was buy notebook paper and pencils. I'm mad I wasn't aware of it years ago. Look how grown they are *sobs*.

Covid

I started getting allergies after we got back from Krystal's. I figured it was because they vape in the house and have cats. I also spent time outside, which tends to give me allergies. Cole even gagged up a wad of mucus and ran a fever when we got home, which we figured was maybe from teeth or something. The rest of the fam was feeling alright, but my sinuses would only be tamed with Benadryl. I made an appointment at the Urgent Care to see about maybe getting a Covid test, but the wait time was indefinite and I didn't have the typical symptoms. Three hours passed and we decided to leave. Ashley insisted we were fine and to come over to exchange gifts... so we did. The kids played together and I started feeling better. A few days later, Zac develops a cough. Then the big kids get a cough and low fever and sore throats. Then Elias. So, we made appointments to go through the drive-up clinic. Zac got tested per his job request and sure enough, positive. Once I started getting chest-tightening and a cough a few days later, I got tested and it was positive. I'm 100% the kids have it as well.
