Playground

We haven't really been to playgrounds since the pandemic started. Usually when we go for our walk, there are other people at the one near the house, so we just skip it. Today we had it to ourselves. I like that the big kids still enjoy being kids. They all played for a bit, then we had our walk around the pond and saw some vultures eating a fish. Afterward, we went for some treats.

Worst day

So this morning I woke up and my left ear was burning. It's the one that had the infection last year and is persistently bothersome off and on. So I got the kids up, ordered groceries (or so I thought, just wait), and decided to make a trip to Urgent Care after Zac went back to work. He came home, we had some lunch and I complained about my ear. He gave me a hug, then both boys started crying. Normally, they bump into each other because they like jumping on the sofa or running through the house or just hitting each other with toys. So, I didn't jump right away, but Elias said he broke a tooth and became more upset, so we hurried to see what was wrong. Cole wasn't crying, but said he bumped his head, and Elias' mouth was full of blood. OF COURSE. So, I told him to get dressed, I called the dentist and they were able to squish him in for an x-ray. This was a baby tooth, luckily, but it wasn't wiggling yesterday and after the bump, it was wiggly. The dentist said he was okay, it was going to come out within the month anyway, but to keep wiggling it and it should be fine this week or next. No broken adult teeth, no damage to gums, etc. Just bumped the tooth. Yay! So, I dropped Elias back home, and headed out to Urgent Care. Mind you, it was very windy today. I told Zac I was going to get my ear checked and in his comforting words of "sorry it's such a stressful day", he added "at least it's not raining". Of course it started raining. Not like regular rain. The I-can't-see-headlights rain. I made it to UC and my ear is irritated because of sinuses. No infection, woop. My phone gave me a tornado warning beep and I decided to go back home and pick up the groceries once the rain cleared up. I had about 10 minutes according to my weather app, so I checked to see if the groceries were ready and... they weren't. Because I didn't confirm the payment this morning like I thought I did. So I had to go out and buy them and forgot my toothpaste. At least I made it home and the wind stopped and the rain stopped. But my eye has been twitching since this morning and I've got a headache. This felt like a cartoony bad day.

Sushi Night

Zac made homemade sushi because the kids requested it and the one from my birthday has been haunting me.
