Halloween 2021

Happy Best-Holiday! It's spooky time. I made mucus-covered snails for breakfast and spent most of the day helping Zac bake/cook the feast. I'm highly pleased with how the graveyard pudding turned out and I even made Zombie Juice. We carved pumpkins, took the kids trick or treating, and had a lovely walk around the neighborhood. It felt so normal. The kids collected so much candy and the weather was chilly and perfect. Ugh, it was fantastic.

Pumpkins

Since this virus is doing its thing, we took the kids to the local farmer's market to pick out some pumpkins... and maybe some honey. They loved it, even though it wasn't as "fun" as what they've done in the past. I wish more people would get vaccinated so things can get back to some sort of normal. I want to make memories like the next person, but it's not fair to put my kids at risk because others are selfish twats. We got some super cute pics of them in the back yard and I really love how they turned out. I'm going to have to update my 3-year-old frames with one of Cole. I'm going to have to buy another collage for 4-year-old next. My my my.

15 Year Anniversary

We've been married a whopping 15 years. Whuuuuut. It's sometimes hard to believe but also not. Jac babysat the boys (with Leah's help) and Zac brought us to McAlister's because I've been craving carrot cake something atrocious and happily indulged in the gluten. We bought some ice cream from Baskin Robbins, then went to Target to walk around and pick the kids out some treats. We started watching Squid Game and I really want to learn Korean. It's such a good show so far. Kinda Hunger Games? I dig it.

Dunn's Falls

Zac and I were bored, so I had suggested us going to Louisiana for the day to drive around my childhood neighborhood. After some pros and cons, we decided to visit Meridian instead to see the Dunn's Falls waterfall. It's closer, being about an hour away, instead of three. So, we went. It was hot, but the kids had a fun time.

Happy October!

Last night, the kids wanted to bake spooky cookies for the Wicked Witch (with apple juice since we didn't have apple cider), so we had fun making a mess in the kitchen. This morning, they opened their spooky socks and had some spooky hot cocoa and we watched Hocus Pocus. I fucking love this time of year and cannot wait until the leaves turn orange.
